If you thought that the US Congress could put an end to the secret programs of listening to everything and everything from the NSA, then you are mistaken. FISC (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court) continued this program for another 180 days, while the interception program will be related to the collection of information from mobile phones. Moreover, it is possible to continue the program further. In the meantime, the NSA will wiretap mobile phones
until the end of November .
It is worth recalling that the US Congress banned the NSA from continuing its audition program,
missing the USA Freedom Act , which was signed by Barack Obama on June 2. This law already contained a clause on the possibility of extending the activities of the NSA for 6 months, using a less aggressive observation program (in this case only “work” with telephones).
As soon as the law itself was approved, the government requested permission from the court to extend the collection of data from cell phones within the United States. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court after reviewing this request approved it. Now opponents of this program are considering the possibility of applying to the courts for a total ban on such activities of the NSA.

In the framework of the current monitoring program, the NSA receives the right to receive from the telecommunications companies the telephone numbers of subscribers (both the caller and the caller), information on the duration of the calls and the time of the call, ISMI and some other data. The NSA claims that the wiretapping program is implemented as part of the fight against terrorism.
