"Lurkomore" suspends work

Today, the creator and current head of the project " Lurkmore " (Lurkmore, Lurk) Dmitry Khomak announced his intention to suspend the site. The main reason is the conflict with Roskomnadzor, as well as the listing of “foreign agents” of the Dynasty Foundation .

Dmitry Homak published plans for further work with Lurkomorye (in a somewhat emotional form) on his Facebook page .

"OK. We translate Lurk in conservation mode and a cultural monument. Separately, it is necessary [a lot] of time and effort, it is not clear where to get them, ”commented the founder of Lurkmore.

At the same time, the decision to freeze the resource was made under the influence of the news about the site being added to the list of “foreign agents”. Constant conflicts with Roskomnadzor are not the main factor. “In short: my personal spiritual balance was not at all broken by Lurk’s blockade and not that the money ran out completely, but the story of the Dynasty Foundation,” said Dmitry.

Another problem for Dmitry is the lack of media attention to the problem of Internet blocking.

“No one noticed the Github blocking story. The beginning of the story with Syutkin was noticed by the press, the ending was not. Well, actually, after Zharov from Roskomnadzor publicly put me on “Russia 24,” and also began to block the entry and for every sneeze, we generally stopped being in the press, ”Homak said.

In March of this year, the head of Roskomnadzor, Alexander Zharov, while giving an interview to the Russia 24 TV channel, publicly accused Homak of pursuing certain marketing goals, while accusing the department of “blackmail”. In addition, Zharov accused "Lurkomore" in the regular appearance of illegal information on the pages of the site.

“We cooperate with Lurkmore all 2.5 years, since it is filled, including with users, there regularly appear illegal information, regularly there is information calling for suicidal behavior, child pornography, drug propaganda and so on. And the owner of the resource, Dmitry Khomak, has always actively interacted with us, this information was promptly blocked, ”said Zharov in this interview.

Over the past few months, Lurkmore has been entered into the registry of banned sites several times, for various reasons. For example, it was only in April of this year that the site was once again entered into the registry because of the page where the photo of Valery Syutkin was posted. This photo has become a meme due to some circumstances. Last year, Roskomnadzor added several pages of the site to the blacklist because of the information about narcotic substances placed on the resource.

It remains only to add that "Lurkomore" does not close, but temporarily suspends work, updating materials. The project manager plans to rethink the concept of a resource, most likely in order to launch an already updated website.
