Users of open Wi-Fi networks in Russia now need to be identified

To access public Wi-Fi networks in Russia, you now need to be identified. For example, passengers of the Moscow metro who want to connect to open Wi-Fi networks need to register using a code that the user receives in an sms-message. According to Ilya Grabovsky, a representative of the Maxima Telecom company, the procedure is carried out in full compliance with the requirements of federal law No. 97 .

“Mandatory identification of users since December 26, 2014 was introduced on the Ring metro line, from January 16, 2015 - on Sokolnicheskaya. During January, users of the Kalinin and Lublin-Dmitrov lines will receive identification requests, ”Ilya Grabovsky said.

By the spring of 2015, such a system will work on all branches.
