“China expects to strengthen cooperation with all countries on the principles of mutual respect and trust in order to strengthen security on the Internet. To do this, it is necessary to develop the Internet infrastructure, promote the flourishing of the Internet economy, strengthen cooperation in the field of sharing Internet technologies, and implement measures to enhance security in the Internet space, ”
said Ma Kai.
More than one and a half thousand people from 175 countries of the world take part in the conference. Among the participants are information security specialists, scientists, officials, businessmen. It is worth mentioning participants such as Alibaba President Jack Ma, Baidu search engine executive director Li Yanhong, head of China's largest Internet provider, Tencent Ma Huateng. There are representatives of Microsoft, Samsung and others.
Igor SchegolevParticipants on the Russian side are presidential aide Igor Shchegolev, head of Roskomnadzor Alexander Zharov and his deputy, Maxim Ksenzov. Igor Schegolev on Wednesday has already delivered his report, in which he highlighted the need to protect the rights of individual states in the information space, as well as the possibility of influencing the local segments of the Network from outside.
“We are very often accused of intending to separate the“ Great Russian Wall ”from the Internet. We are not going to do this, but on the other hand, we should not allow the Russian segment of the Internet to be disconnected from the outside. So far such a threat exists, and it is quite real, ”said Igor Shchegolev (by the way, he took the position of presidential aide after he left the post of head of the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation). “We intend to ensure that the multibillion-dollar investments of our state, private companies and our citizens in the use of the Internet, the acquisition of appropriate equipment and programs are not lost and are reliably protected,” added Schegolev.
The duration of the conference is three days, that is, it should end tomorrow. Probably, we will hear about the results of the work of the national delegation in the near future.
