November 1, Roskomnadzor begins to control VPNs and anonymizers
Today, Roskomnadzor announced that, together with market participants, it is completing testing of a new system for interacting with VPN services, anonymizers and search engines. Kaspersky Lab JSC, Opera Software AS, Mail.Ru and Yandex take part in the testing.
In accordance with the amendments, the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs will look for VPN services and anonymizers, and Roskomnadzor will contact providers to eliminate violations or blockade.
The amendments suggest that VPN services and anonymizers will block sites banned in the Russian Federation, and search engines will exclude them from being issued.
