Roskomnadzor has blocked the popular hosting of PDF-files SlideShare

The book on the website was published on March 27, 2015 by the user Islam Books, as well as 263 more publications. She just had 364,485 views, but now the number of views has begun to grow rapidly.

Unfortunately, the forbidden link is posted on the HTTPS website, so today many law-abiding Internet service providers have been forced to block the entire hosting of SlideShare PDF files with thousands of useful materials and presentations.

The press service of Roskomnadzor said that they had repeatedly tried to contact representatives of the resource, but could not do it. So I had to block the site, Roskomnadzor had no other way out.

“SlideShare is a good and useful service, as soon as the illegal content is removed from the resource, it [the service - ed.] Will be available to the Russians again,” the press service noted, Izvestia writes .

SlideShare is owned by LinkedIn. As is known, in November 2016, the Russian supervisory authority blocked the entire social network for business contacts. At that time, the reason was the decision of the Tagansky Court on violation by the said service of the Russian legislation on personal data of Russians. Perhaps we are talking about the mandatory storage of personal data in Russia. LinkedIn lock can be released as soon as Microsoft completes the purchase of LinkedIn and obediently transfers data to Russian data centers.

SlideShare is a really useful service. For example, it is often used to show PDF documents as an embedded widget on GeekTimes and Habrahabr pages. Let's hope that its blocking will also be lifted soon.
