US users have 4 days, 11 hours and 50 minutes to save network neutrality in their Internet segment and to protest the procedure for canceling network neutrality , which was approved by the Open Internet Order of 2015, agreed in February 2015 by the US Federal Communications Commission. Four days later The first comment deadline expires. The FTC decision is called “Restoring Internet Freedom” and proposes amendments to Section II of the Law on Communications, according to which telecommunication companies are equated to public communication lines and thereby undertake to provide equal conditions to all market participants.

The name “Restoration of Internet Freedom” should not be misleading, because officials, cable companies and Internet providers consider mandatory compliance with network neutrality as a restriction of freedom. From their point of view, the abolition of network neutrality is the restoration of freedom, in the best traditions of the semantics of "1984".

After the cancellation of network neutrality, major Internet service providers AT & T, Comcast and Verizon hope to conduct new rules for regulating traffic on their networks through Congress, setting priorities for different traffic, slowing down (shaping) certain protocols, charging sites for their traffic to pass, etc.

Amazon, Facebook, Google, Mozilla, Twitter, Netflix, Reddit, Kickstarter, Vimeo, BitTorrent and many other IT companies, startups and activists are in favor of maintaining network neutrality. All of them take part in the Battle for the Internet action. Opponents of the amendments proposed by the FTC fear censorship and the emergence of "fast corridors" that providers may introduce for their own services. In addition, they point to the commitment of FTC commissioner Ajit Pai, who used to be Verizon’s lead counselor.

The purpose of this action is to influence the FCC and Congress. The head of the FCC is required to cancel the proposed regulation and extend the Open Internet Order of 2015. From Congress, not to succumb to the lobbying efforts of the telecommunications industry and Internet service providers and not to cancel the net neutrality rules in future law, which is currently being discussed .

By today's action, Mozilla released an epic nine-hour video in which, against the soothing background of natural beauty, the announcer slowly reads a sample of 40,000 letters that came in support of net neutrality after publishing an open letter to Mozilla .

Approximately at 8:52:00 on the video sounds the mention of the famous Reese group of FTC agent Ajit Pai, who was mocked enough (14:10)

Today, banners will appear on thousands of websites in support of network neutrality, and in some cities real promotions will take place offline. Activists are turning to all citizens to sign a letter in support of the Open Internet Rules - and send it to the FCC and Congress.
