The deputy head of the CIB FSB has become the person involved in the new criminal case

The FSB continues to institute criminal proceedings against employees of the CIB, Kommersant reports . Another person involved in the trial was the deputy head of the CIB of the FSB, Dmitry Pravikov, who for several years headed the direction responsible for the expertise in investigating high-tech crimes.

Recall that in January 2017 in the media there was information about the arrest of the head of the CIB Sergey Mikhailov, members of the Shaltai-Boltai group (including their founder Vladimir Anikeev), as well as the top manager of Kaspersky Lab.

According to the sources of Kommersant, claims against Pravikov arose "according to some act, which he signed, with a meager amount." Pravikov was not arrested and is now under investigation, he is suspected of receiving a bribe.

The investigation began after Pravikov decided to move to the Center for the Protection of Information and Special Communications (TsZI) of the FSB, which allegedly provoked "direct conflict with the authorities."

One of the interlocutors of the publication notes that Pravikov was “a legend in the field of information security. He has written articles and books for which many have studied, but in recent years has been a non-public person. ” In addition, Pravikov is a candidate of technical sciences, an associate professor at the Department of Information Security at the Moscow State Technical University. Although the structure of the Central Security Service of the Federal Security Service is unknown, but Mikhailov, who is accused of treason, and Pravikov were the actual heads of departments. After the detention of Mikhailov and the initiation of proceedings against Pravikov, who had worked at the CIB since 2005, the management of the unit changed. In the highest circles there are rumors about the complete liquidation of the CIB and the transfer of its functions to the adjacent structure in the FSB - TsI. Some call this development unlikely.
