Arzamas city court decided to block an article on "Arzamas" on the satirical book about bribes in 1837

The Medusa publication announces the decision of the Arzamas City Court in the Nizhny Novgorod Region (dated 07.28.2016) to block access to the page of the Arzamas educational project for an article posted on the latest in March 2016. Based on the data presented in the registry of prohibited sites, access to the material is not blocked.

The publication also reports that the decision to block the article for distribution on the territory of Russia was taken by the court at the request of the prosecutor who applied to the court "in the interests of the Russian Federation and an indefinite number of persons." Roskomnadzor employees were not at the meeting, representatives of “Arzamas” were not invited to the process.

“I am glad that our historical materials are read in the wonderful city of Arzamas. I am sure that there are more attentive and adequate readers there than the author of this denunciation, who is unable to discover that this is a text retelling a satirical book.
The book was published in the year of the death of Pushkin, is stored in the central Russian libraries and complements our understanding of Russian life and culture of the 19th century. I hope this oddity will be fixed soon. Less sure that corruption will be eradicated in Russia - at least, until people learn to read, this will not happen. ”
