Roskomnadzor blocked PornHub and YouPorn on the territory of the Russian Federation

The government regulator has recently blacklisted two major foreign resources for adults - Pornhub and Youporn. According to the Roskomsvoboda organization, Pornhub was added to the register of prohibited sites on September 13 , and Youporn - a day later, on September 14 . Consequently, today all telecom operators in the Russian Federation must finally restrict access to the above resources for their subscribers.

Regulator's actions did not go unnoticed, not only among subscribers, but also among companies and the administration of blocked resources.

Thus, the blocking caused mass complaints on Twitter from users on the inaccessibility of Pornhub in the territory of the Russian Federation. Roskomnadzor was unable to ignore such attention to blocking and began to show some activity in social networks on this topic, referring to its own words a year ago:

The hype on Twitter did not hide from the official Pornhub account, which tactfully offered the Roskomnadzor a premium subscription in exchange for a scam:



As it should be for the state structure, the RKN did not appreciate the joke and responded with a prepared phrase about demography and increasing the birth rate in the country:

It is worth noting that a year ago, on September 8, 2015, the runet spread around the news about blocking Pornhub and 10 more resources for adults in the territory of the Russian Federation. But then, by a court decision, only the Russian-language subdomain ru.pornhub was blocked, while global pornhub.com avoided blocking. And now, a year later, the courts have reached out to the global segment of the resource. Apparently, the September blocking of porn sites is becoming a tradition.
