VKontakte refuses to block communities containing links to illegal online bookmakers

During the campaign of a number of government agencies to combat illegal gambling on the Vkontakte network, more than 200 groups were entered into the Unified Register of Banned Sites for publishing links to illegal online casinos, the Izvestia newspaper reports and stresses that communities have not been blocked yet.

The main complaint about gambling publics is that they provide actual links to the “mirrors” of blocked sites with gambling, explain what add-ons need to be made to the browser, or even offer to download a ready-made browser that has the necessary add-ons installed.

Later, the PKN, through its official public, reported on the results of blocking by social networks:

Twitter and Facebook have deleted accounts of large offshore betting shops engaged in illegal gambling on the Internet. Among the deleted accounts were such companies as Fonbet, BetCity, PariMatch, Winlinebet.
The mobile applications of the bookmakers banned in Russia from Google Play and the App Store were also removed.

The absence of Vkontakte in this list is striking. But the main audience of online gambling is concentrated there. VC remains the only serious Russian platform that, in fact, condones the business banned in Russia. According to the press service of the RKN through the Izvestia newspaper, efforts by Vkontakte to remove groups whose administrations violate the law and continue to disseminate information about illegal Internet resources are not enough.

Refusing to block the communities of illegal online bookmakers, which contain information about the existing "mirrors" of blocked sites, the VC administration undermines the work of government agencies to legalize this "gray" market. This position of the social network can be justified only by commercial interest. This means that VC itself is a participant in illegal business activities.

It is obvious that the state will not stop and continue to squeeze illegal online bookmakers and casino. So, if you are an amateur, then either give up this entertainment, or look for licensed offices.
