The new bill obliges telecom operators to keep all subscriber data for 3 years
We are talking about voice data, text messages, images, sounds or other types of messages from Internet users and mobile subscribers.

The document itself introduces a number of significant changes in several laws. In particular, the authors of the document propose to add to the Law on Communication the following wording of clause 1 of Article 64: “Telecommunication operators are obliged to store information on the facts of reception, transmission, delivery and (or) processing of voice information in the territory of the Russian Federation for three years and text messages, including their content, as well as images, sounds or other messages of users of communication services ... ”.
At the same time, telecom operators should "... provide the authorized state bodies carrying out operational investigative activities or ensuring the security of the Russian Federation, the specified information, information about users of communication services and communication services provided to them and other information necessary to perform the tasks assigned to these bodies, in cases established by federal laws. "
Here there are two difficulties. The first is that the deputies are proposing to introduce monitoring of all users of Internet providers and cellular operators. The second is that in order to store such amount of data for three years, data warehouses with practically unlimited volume are needed.
In addition, the document mentions the need to require that not only telecom operators' users, but also “information dissemination organizers” keep their data. This means that, if the draft law is adopted, those Internet resources and services included in the relevant Roskomnadzor registry will be monitored for the actions of users and the data of these users will be stored. These are Yandex, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, Mail.Ru and many other social networks and services.
