State Duma deputies Alexey Kazakov and Alexander Yushchenko drafted a bill providing for the introduction of a special legal regime for a number of Internet resources that collect, process and disseminate information. For these resources, a special term is introduced - “news aggregator”. Deputies are going to moderate the aggregators' content only if the service audience exceeds 1 million per day.

The bill obliges aggregators to “verify the accuracy of the publicly important information disseminated,” and that information whose source is the media. And if something goes wrong, it is planned to introduce an extrajudicial "taking measures to curb the dissemination of inaccurate information." The first reading of the bill on news aggregators should take place no earlier than the second half of April.
