The project "Roskomsvoboda" can block on the territory of the Russian Federation because of information about how to circumvent site blocking

The head of the Roscomsvobod site, Artem Kozlyuk, said that the resource may be blocked in Russia, writes Lenta.ru. The site administration was notified that the project was included in the unified register of prohibited Internet resources. The reason is information posted on the portal about how to bypass blocking on the Internet, as well as information about anonymizers. The decision on the illegality of the information posted on Roskomsvoboda was made by the Anapa court in April 2015.

After entering the registry, the site administration must either remove the illegal information, or the site will be blocked on the territory of Russia. This will happen after Roskomnadzor sends the site address to providers for blocking. “We have a few more days to sort things out. We will contact Roskomnadzor and, I hope, find a compromise, ”Kozlyuk said.

The current situation looks unusual against the background of a statement by the press secretary of Roskomnadzor Vadim Ampelonsky. On the air of the RBC TV channel, Ampelonsky reported that, on the whole, the department is calm about the presence of such tools as proxy servers, anonymizers, and VPN. To use all this is not against the law. At the same time, on their page on the social network "Vkontakte" representatives of the ministry announced their intention to block for a week the users posting information about how to bypass the locks.
