Roskomnadzor began to block sites selling jamon, prosciutto and other sanctions products

Prohibited products: if you really want something ... you still can not

This month, Roskomnadzor blacklisted the site of a supplier of products for catering enterprises, hotels, and restaurants. The reason is the presence of sanctions products in the list of goods on the site It is about the company "East-West", whose case was considered in court, writes Cnews. The decision to block was taken by the Belorechensky District Court of the Krasnodar Territory.

The company itself, whose site was blocked, did not participate in the proceedings. The lawsuit was filed by the local prosecutor, who found sanctions food products on the company's website, the importation of which into the territory of Russia was banned in the summer of 2014. In particular, we are talking about meat products.

During the trial, the court became convinced that the supplier’s website actually represented the aforementioned products, including Hungarian bacon, Italian dry-cured ham without bone (Matonnel, Prosciutto Crudo and Prosciutto di Parma), Italian Coppa dry-cured neck other.

By applying for recognition of information disseminated on the Internet that is prohibited for distribution on the territory of the Russian Federation, the prosecutor acts in the interests of an indefinite circle of people and the Russian Federation in order to protect the foundations of the constitutional system and morality, to form the legal consciousness of citizens in order to prevent citizens from committing crimes and offenses - stated in the court decision.
