The Krylovsky District Court of the Krasnodar Territory ruled to block the Russian-speaking segment of the popular adult site Pornhub. According to the court decision, only the second-level domain address “ru.pornhub”, and not the entire site, will fall under the blocking, reports Lenta.ru .

“It has been established that websites containing pornographic materials (images, videos, videos) prohibited by law have been identified on the Internet,” the court said.

The blocking of Pornhub is motivated, first of all, by the observance of the so-called law “on the protection of children from harmful information,” which may harm their health and psyche. Consequently, the contents of the popular porn site were found to be prohibited in the territory of the Russian Federation, and the resource itself is included in the list of sites to be blocked in Russia. Together with Pornhub in the field of view of the advocates of children got a dozen more sites.

According to statistics, only 15% of resources “submitted” to the entry in the register of prohibited sites are blocked, however, in order to avoid blocking, it is necessary to remove content that violates the laws of the Russian Federation. In the case of Pornhub, this is all the content of the resource, which is obvious.

But, as they say, the severity of Russian laws is compensated for by the fact that they are not implemented. The regulator will block only ru.pornhub, which, in fact, provides a Russian-language interface. There is no question of blocking the root domain pornhub.com, and, accordingly, of the entire resource, it will still be available to everyone.
