Amendments to the law on the media, allowing the blocking of sites, will enter into force only on January 1, 2015, but even after that, legal grounds will be needed for blocking. In the present conditions, the blocking of IP addresses of BelaPAN, as well as other independent Internet media, we regard as a rough encroachment on freedom of speech and the media in Belarus.
