Journalists found 11 cryptocurrency exchange points and 4 Bitcoin-ATM machines in Moscow

In early April, the media got information that an offline cryptocurrency exchanger called Sbercoin opened in Moscow. Now the journalists conducted an experiment and found out that this is far from the only point for exchanging cryptocurrency and making operations with digital money.

What is Sbercoin?

A cryptocurrency exchange office called Sbercoin opened in Verkhniy Susalny Lane in Moscow near the Kurskiy Railway Station, according to the project, its commission for operations is 15%. The office of the exchanger is decorated in white and green - this fact, as well as the name itself, allowed some observers to assume that Sberbank was involved in the project.

However, the finance company told the journalists that the bank was in no way connected with this cryptoexchanger and that “all reasonable and necessary measures will be taken in this case”. Representatives of the project responded by saying that they did not violate Russian legislation and were working according to the Civil Code of the Russian Federation.

Other exchangers and Bitcoin ATMs

This episode is not the first in the history of the opening of exchangers for cryptocurrency. Back in August 2016, a group of activists opened the first stationary exchange of bitcoins on Novy Arbat.

Now the journalists decided to find all active points for cryptocurrency exchange in Moscow. To do this, they analyzed the data of the specialized Bitmap service.

It turned out that in total there are 11 offices of exchangers and 4 crypto-ATMs operating in the Russian capital (managed by RusBit). In Bitcoin ATMs, users perform operations with various currencies on their own, in the case of crypto-exchangers, the scheme is more complicated: to get to the office, you need to create an application in advance, as well as decide on the amount and time of visit.

Bitcoin is the most popular cryptocurrency available for purchase and exchange. However, in some points you can exchange rubles for Litecoin, Dash, Ethereum and Monero. According to media reports, the minimum amount that can be exchanged in Moscow is 600 rubles, and the maximum amount reaches 3 million rubles.
