Moscow JS 40 - report, guest reviews and video

Hello! We did not have time to look around how all the offline places on Moscow JS 40 , which was held in our office on March 1, ended. Not everyone had time to sign up. Good news: there are already videos and presentations from speakers. Under the cut - videos, presentations, links to a photo report and feedback from listeners.

The meeting participants talked about the motivation and difficulties of creating a service of screenshots of web pages, discussed the developer experience and flow, dealt with AST parsers and conducted an excursion into computer linguistics.

Screenshots as a service. Sergey Melyukov, Avito

Sergey spoke about creating a service of screenshots of web pages based on headless chrome and puppeteer. On the video - the history of walking on a rake, the search for options and inspiration

Reviews:

  • A good report on the solution of an interesting problem.
  • It would be interesting to see it as soon as possible in open-source.

How to start using AST. Ivan Strelkov, Avito

Together with Ivan, we dealt with AST parsers and were convinced that their use is not rocket science at all. Worth trying!

Presentation

Reviews:

Good performance, which gave an understanding of the AST and what problems and how (with what resources) to perform them.

DX w / Flow. Alexander Lobashev, Raiffeisen

This report is no longer about Flow, but about how typing helps to fidget code between teams, improves work with many components, helps migrate from one version of the UI kit to another.

Presentation

Reviews:

I was not going to listen to this report, but after it I wanted to try Flow.

Javascript processing for dummies. Dmitry Shmakov, Otkritie Bank

Dmitriy conducted an excursion into computer linguistics and told how using JavaScript to correct errors in words, understand what part of speech they relate to, how to incline them correctly or how to classify texts among themselves and understand what human language they were written in.

Presentation

Reviews:

Very concise report, strictly on the case and the task, rather narrow specificity.

We posted the photo report on Facebook .

Thanks to the organizers of Moscow JS 40 and everyone who came to the meeting, watched the broadcast! Write in the comments what topics you would be interested to discuss. See you again!
