We have two good news.
At Coursera, we launched the 2nd part of the online course on the development of web services on Go.
And on March 2nd, in the office, we will conduct a review lecture in which we will explain why you should try Go.
Under the cut details.
The first part of the course “Developing Web Services at Golang” was about the basics of the language, but practical application issues were not really covered.
The second part is devoted just to the review of the most frequent tasks in the development of a web service:
Homework continues the theme of “try everything in the language” - by completing them, you will already feel confident in solving most of the problems encountered.
We did not aim to teach in this course how to program correctly, or to make a universal encyclopedia on language. Rather, it is a review of everything that is, so that you can begin to navigate the ecosystem of the language and understand how this or that problem is being solved. For each lecture there is a structured list of articles that allows you to get a deeper knowledge of the topic, without having to comb the Internet.
1 part of the course
2 part of the course
In addition, as part of the support of the first conference on the development of Go in Russia, GopherCon Russia 2018, we will give a lecture: “Why you should try Golang”.
On March 2, in the Moscow office of the Mail.Ru Group, Vasily Romanov, the author of the course and a member of the Mail.Ru Mail team, will tell about the main features of the language and its areas of application. The following topics will be covered:
The purpose of the lecture is to understand in 2 hours whether the language is worth trying it in a real project, or is it just another newfangled toy of programmers.
The event is aimed at people who are not familiar with the language, but who at least learn in a convenient and compact form what kind of animal it is. Developers with experience in Golang will not hear anything new.
The lecture is free, prior registration is required.
