Synterra has found power for school traffic

Synterra has formed a pool of partners who are ready to provide additional duct capacitances for the needs of the Education national project. The need to rent these resources, we recall, determine the volume of Internet traffic consumed by schools. Specialists of the general contractor RTKomm (included in the Synterra group) predict that in 2007 these volumes could reach 21 Pentabytes versus 11 TBs in December 2006 ... Own channels of RTKomm are not enough to implement Education.

As reported by Prime-TASS , as a result of negotiations, agreements were reached on leasing significant channel resources from Rostelecom and Svyazinvest. MegaFon has provided the capacity of its own fiber optic channels in the Volga and Southern federal districts. Vimpelcom and MTS offered channels in the Siberian district. The operator SMARTS - in the Astrakhan and Saratov regions, as well as a number of cities in its region. Golden Telecom for the special price gives resources in the Central and Volga districts.

Participation in the project of other large operators is currently being agreed. In addition, Synterra concludes rental contracts with a number of small telecom operators - Mir Mir and VVD, for example.

The company expects a large increase in the load on organized transport networks in September 2007, when schoolchildren run out of vacation. It is at this point that "Synterra" and plans to complete the project of network reinforcement.
