The truth and the myths about marketing in gamesSergey Zykov , Marketing Director of the company Armor5Games, teacher of the discipline " Game Marketing " at VSBI.It's not a secret for anybody - they do not like marketers in gaming companies. Developers do not like it - it always seems to them that marketing hinders making the “game of the century”, but demands to do it “like everyone else”. Players do not like it - it is because of our fault, as they believe, the games come out “raw”, unfinished. And Steam Early Access, we can not forgive so far. And does not like the management of companies - because we always ask for money for marketing. And most often - begging the same.
But all this is nothing more than myths. In fact - we (marketers) just want everyone - the developers, the players, and even the management (especially the management!) To be happy.
