Pirates to blame for low Vista sales

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer (Steve Ballmer) is convinced that the low sales of Windows Vista are guilty of pirates operating in “developing countries”. One of the ways to combat this scourge he sees is “tightening the screws” in the fight against piracy, and another is to modernize anti-piracy technologies implemented in the new operating system.

According to the Business Software Alliance report, China is in first place in terms of piracy in the world (86% of unlicensed software), Russia is second (83%), and India is third (72%), ARN reports.
