We are starting a foresight study of the blockchain technology in various sectors of the economy. And today we need your help - thoughts on the format of the forecast and participation in a small survey. According to the results of the study, new articles will be published here.
The purpose of this study: to make a forecast for the next 5-10 years (from 2018 to 2028) about how this or that sphere of human activity will change with the use of blockchain technologies.

We hope that in this IT community we will be able to get the most constructive comments, ideas and suggestions. And, perhaps, proposals for further mutual cooperation in research.
Who are we?
Undergraduates and advisers of
Krauslab magistracy in the
Baltic Federal University them. And Kant (Kaliningrad). The research project (or “Learning Set”) is one of our practical tasks, but for each of us personally - this is part of professional interest in this area, as well as a desire to figure out what awaits each of us in the foreseeable future.
Our target audience: these are entrepreneurs and representatives of business structures who have just become interested in a new trend and want to get more structured and high-quality information about its areas, as well as understand how their business may look in 5-10 years.
As a starting point, we identified the following
areas of activity using
PwC open data :

- High tech
- State and public organizations

After conducting a comparative analysis of various predictions and examining many clever articles, we created a
small prototype - a table that describes how the specific type of economic activity will change. And how strong a driver of change will be each of the tools of the “distributed registry” ecosystem, whether it is an opportunity to release its own cryptocurrency or build a DAO.
But there is only one metric in the table, where 100% of the scale corresponds to the fact that in this area the old familiar processes and functions will completely disappear and be replaced by new ones. While this is a draft, it makes no sense to publish here without elaboration. And the final product of the research should become more attractive, usable and with a clear range of metrics.
Therefore, now our task is
to collect as much feedback as possible on the format of the forecast . If you have 5 minutes for thoughtful answers, then please open
this survey form on Google with 7 very important questions for further research.
If not, we will be happy to see your thoughts on the two main ones in the comments below:
1. What should be corrected in the above list of areas of activity? For example, to make it more simple, as in the definition on Wikipedia .
Or, on the contrary, to detail the subspecies of activities.
Or just add the missing sector of the economy.2. What personally serves as a metric and an indicator of the success of a particular field of activity? As if you were looking for a new direction for yourself and, studying this indicator, you would begin to engage in this activity.Your opinions and wishes will be taken into account in future work. And be sure to write if you want to become one of us or act as an expert.
We plan to complete this phase of the study in January-February 2018 and present it for discussion and analysis to a wider public. But this does not stop and go further, narrowing down to some of the most interesting industry or the function of distributed registries.
