Annual Report Habrapost - 2017

The most remarkable event of the year for the blog Intel: no matter what, we still manage to keep it. And at the same time, we can even say that in terms of quality indicators, there has been some growth. In terms of fashionable language now, we can say that we have reached the bottom and pushed away from it. And this, of course, makes us happy - it is always nice to see our achievements. Well, now blog 2017 in numbers and facts.

The quantitative characteristics of the blog this year have collapsed thoroughly - both the number of authors and the number of posts have collapsed more than 2 times. The authors' outflow is directly related to last year’s organizational cataclysms , and the decline in the number is due to a sharp decrease in the number of translations of articles from the Intel’s main site for developers , caused by some redistribution of resources within the company.

However, you can easily find a positive trend: the number of blog followers for the year increased by almost 500 people and reached 15 thousand! This trend pleases us from year to year.

But the quality characteristics, as already mentioned, slightly crept upwards - albeit slightly, but almost everything. This is partly due to the same disappearance of translated materials - their performance was slightly lower than that of their own posts. However, no one guarantees the success in advance, good grades still have to be earned.



For us, the editors, the main joy of examining the graphs is that the new principles of work that we came up with at the beginning of last year proved their viability. And this means that the next year should be at least as good - again, the bottom is obtained. By the way, this year the number of posts in the Intel blog has exceeded one thousand. As is known, we have been on the air since 2009, a special post has been made about the “very-best” articles during this time.



Now let's talk about the leaders.

• The most rated post (+100) and the most added post to favorites (763) - Git from bottom to top , by vikky13 . Great work and well-deserved success. Our first +100, starting in 2013.
• Post with the maximum number of views (65.3k) - Intel processors will become threefold , the author saul . For the first time, the April Fool's post hit the rating, it didn’t be enough for him to get up to +100.
• The most commented post (191) - Intel Core i9 - new processors with the letter i , by saul . A good example of a small post with a big flame.

If we talk about trends, they are completely characteristic of Habr, at least a year, at least five years ago. Traditionally, historical posts are popular, and the success of the raffle about triple processors simply exceeded all our expectations. Also traditionally low ranking in news posts, but we will still publish them, because they show that the company lives and develops. If there is no news, then there is no movement. And once again (the last) we would like to appeal to those who each time accuse us of superficiality. Understand, finally, that at the moment of the emergence of something new information about him is always scarce, including among us, the authors. Let's treat news as the beginning of a conversation, and comparisons, analytics, benchmarks will surely appear later, if the topic is of interest.

Once again we will remind that the next year will be for Intel a special, anniversary one. Companies are 50 years old - this date cannot be missed. And we will not miss it. Like all other topics worthy of attention.
