Mail.Ru mail users no longer have to manually increase mailbox sizes. 5 GB of disk space is immediately available, whereas before registration 25 MB were allocated (it was possible to increase the capacity as it was filled). The current 5 GB - this is also the lower limit of the size of the boxes, it follows from the message of the company.
With the innovation, the service received the functionality of online storage, which, according to Mail.Ru CEO Dmitry Grishin, is quite in demand with time. The company has increased the basic capacity of the mail, feeling that even the initial 25 MB is not enough for the most active users who conduct correspondence in large volumes.
“As far as I know, not a single free mail service in the world currently provides this amount of disk space,” Grishin said. He added that “every year the personal space of people is increasingly“ moving ”from a local computer to the Internet.”
