How the leaders of the storage industry gathered at Prostor in Skolkovo (photo report)

On October 26, Radiks, together with the IT cluster of the Skolkovo Foundation, held an annual technology forum for data storage — PROSTOR 2017. The meeting place is Skolkovo Technopark with its high-tech, convenient, developed infrastructure!

This year, more than 250 participants gathered at the PROSTOR - business representatives, system integrators, and state officials. structures, commercial enterprises, etc. Russian and foreign IT experts from Broadcom, Elastifile, HGST (Western Digital brand), Micron, Mellanox, SanDisk (Western Digital brand), Panasonic and Radix made reports.







All visitors were provided with a simultaneous translation system: the reports were made simultaneously in Russian and English.

The program had five thematic tracks:

• Solid State Drives. Flash and memory storage class. Nvme
• How to store petabytes?
• Network solutions. Fiber Channel vs. Ethernet, NVMf
• Storage management in the data center
• Comparison of storage architectures.

They paid attention and practice: a demo zone was deployed at the forum, within which software and hardware technologies from leading manufacturers were presented. Among them is a joint solution of Panasonic and Radix for long-term (up to 100 years!) Storage of archive data based on freeze-ray optical discs and RAIDIX control software.







As in previous years, the forum organizers decided to abandon the “marketing wrappers” and provide as much useful information as possible about the current state of the storage system and technologies of tomorrow.





Not only the market leaders, but also innovative start-ups from Russia and abroad spoke at the Prostor 2017. They discussed the most burning topics: NVDIMM, NVMe Over Fabrics, cloud solutions for object storage, big data and much more. New ideas were “tested” on the most diverse audience - from industry experts to potential customers in the corporate sector and government agencies.





Not without first-class networking! There was live music and everything necessary for fruitful informal communication.
