Substitution of previously written tags

It would be more convenient, and most importantly more uniformly - the use of previously written tags, for example, as implemented in del.icio.us - when you enter a new tag, the similar one is substituted.
Thus it would be possible to get rid of tons of tags that are identical in meaning but different in writing.
