In an effort to do more useful in less time I read almost everything that comes handy about this art.
I will share my experience ...

Strongly sat down once: “Do not spray! Every time you switch from task to task, waste time. Switching between ten tasks during the day every 15 minutes, you can get very tired - and at the same time do nothing. ”

I tried to “beat” into large blocks, as recommended: one day I have three tasks, for each of them it is necessary to achieve some visible result.
I did not get to the third one - but the other two advanced it so that it became pleasant to myself. Tangible results - an excellent stimulating factor! :)

Another interesting postulate: “The best way to do a task twice as fast is not to do it twice.” That is, opening a folder with letters - to deal with all incoming. Well, at least with a hundred or two (I know people who have up to half a thousand per day) - giving them a couple of hours. Otherwise what:
“Open Outluk, read the letter, think about the answer ... close outluk, switch”. And the answer is necessary. The next iteration: “open outlook ...” - and this is also time. Second to second - and the working day passes :) The same applies to almost any routine tasks.
Well, it does not work twice as fast, but saving 15–20 percent of time is quite realistic.

And the last postulate: "Precisely determine who should do what and what." Actually, he generally should be the first :) because there is no need to do for the people involved in the project, even 10% of their work. Because in the project 7-10 people. Now let's calculate: at least half an hour to do some part of it for each one - we get 3.5-5 hours of time, killed not so much in vain, but not bringing the result closer - because our own work front was standing! - so, there was the whole project. As a result, the forces are wasted, things seem to turn, but there is no result.
