Hackathon from ABBYY

Last time we announced a contest of ideas (and, by the way, it continues, you can still win the iPhone X), and now we invite you to the hackathon on mobile services from ABBYY. It will be held on October 7-8 in PhysTechPark. Directions are very different. Cool jury. The prize fund is 220 000 rubles. Applications are accepted until October 3, inclusively at mobility.abbyy.com/hack

Hackathon mABBYYlity is a 24-hour competition on the development of services for mobile platforms using intelligent information processing technologies. We want to give an opportunity to develop a unique product together with excellent developers and mentors, a chance to prove ourselves before the representatives of large IT companies and get nice gifts.

For 24 hours, a team of 2-5 people or mABBYYlity participants themselves will have to invent or develop a business idea and create a prototype of an application or service for mobile devices in the field of word processing, images, documents and forms. These can be solutions in the following areas:

• bots, services in social networks and instant messengers;
• augmented reality in mobile devices;
• text processing, document classification, search;
• recognition and processing of images and video;
• improvement, addition, filtering photos;
• recognition and image processing in the browser;
• recognition in cameras of various devices;
• digital enterprise, increased productivity;
• security enhancement technologies;
• cloud technologies and services;
• information exchange technologies.

ABBYY will provide all members with access to their own products for developers. In addition, teams can use any publicly available development tools.
The best mobile products on the basis of the hackathon will be chosen by an expert jury. It includes:

Experts will evaluate the team's results according to the following criteria: the market potential of the idea and the relevance of the problem being solved, the technical implementation of the product and the team’s progress during the hackathon, the compliance of the product’s idea with the direction of the event, and the degree of novelty and originality of the idea.
