According to experts in the field of security and representatives of the special services of different states, Russian hackers may be involved in the attacks.

How do states react to threats?

The security situation of critical infrastructure, including military infrastructure, in recent years has caused increasing concerns among experts. Researchers often publish information about vulnerabilities in industrial object management systems ( Siemens , Schneider Electric ), and cybercriminals attack government institutions and even military infrastructure .

Only in recent years, the oil company Saudi Aramco , the metallurgical plant in Germany, the power system of Ukraine and many other enterprises of critical infrastructure around the world have been attacked.

All this contributes to the fact that the state begins to deal with information security issues in different countries. The same happens in Russia - on January 1, 2018, Federal Law No. 187- dated July 26, 2017 “On the Security of Critical Information Infrastructure of the Russian Federation” comes into force. This is the second time in the history of state regulation of information security in Russia, when mandatory requirements for ensuring the security of information systems will affect not only the public sector, but also commercial companies - and even individual entrepreneurs.

On September 21, at 14:00, Dmitry Kuznetsov, Director, Methodology and Standardization, Positive Technologies, will hold a free webinar on security regulation of the critical information infrastructure in our country.

In particular, the discussion will focus on how the state system is organized and what is required from the owners of information systems that fall under state regulation. We invite information security specialists, heads of IT departments of organizations working in the field of industry, communications, transport and health care.

To participate in the webinar you need to register .
