Most registrars have big discounts on such zones and at some point you can believe that cheap and accessible zones are created for all users for any needs, but in fact this is not so close. The following discussion focuses on classic .ru / .com zones and not quite ordinary .xyz, .club, .today, .life, .world, .online, .tech, .store, as well as registrars, who are lured by low prices and As a result, users get big money on the extension of these zones.

It all started with the fact that I am a very old paying user of the webnames registrar. I noticed that the purchase price of domains in the .ru zone doubled for me (I don’t need it, but it was the first call), my partner status disappeared, the possibility of extending domains in the .ru zone is gone. This happened silently, unilaterally, without notice. Technical support says that I did not have partner status. I thought it was good that I noticed this now, and not when the extension time came, and this opportunity was taken away from me.

Previously, I had a lot of domains, but now there is only one left and then for test purposes.

The article was written a couple of months ago, but did not want to publish it until you see the light at the end of the tunnel. Today, after reading the article How to steal an international domain on REG.RU and completely rewrite myself without the knowledge of the owner, I realized that there would be no light.

I decided to check that it happened if the author of the article registered an international domain not in RegRu, but in Webnames:

I would not be surprised that somewhere in the settings there is also two-factor atorization, which was on RegRu, but the author did not use it. It is difficult to blame for such errors while the recorders have such "convenient" interfaces.

I have an account on RegRu and I even thought to move it off from Webnames. For this, I decided to compare prices.

I found three different price lists on Webnames (links to pictures lead to pages with prices):

Prices for ... me. I don’t know what to call this category, it’s probably “ex-partners”.

My current status “client 3” is like “partner 3”, only without partner status. They ask for him to pay 1500 rubles, arguing.

Now look at the prices of RegRu. Throughout the entire purchase, the inscription "199r" is displayed:

But nowhere is it written how much the extension will be. I climbed through the menu and found nothing.

I looked at the “everything” point, but there is nothing there either. It was worth calling it “everything except prices” or “everything you don't need.” So it would be more honest.

I googled "reg ru extension cost" and immediately found the desired page on RegRu https://www.reg.ru/company/prices :

But even on this page the price of renewal can be seen only by hovering the mouse:

It is not clear how these tariffs differ, apparently they will have to google again.

Write in the comments which registrar for ru-zone you can advise. All foreign domains just need to take only on foreign sites.
