Slack has announced integration with ServiceNow at the Frontiers conference. According to Slack, this type of interaction was the
most anticipated among users. Some of them even
independently built ServiceNow into Slack using open APIs. Now it is possible to “officially” receive information about incidents directly in the messenger.

to Gartner , system for automating IT service management. For example, several years before the start of the Olympic Games in 2014, the ServiceNow platform was the main tool for managing ITSM processes. Users reported problems by phone and email, after which applications were distributed in areas and processed by specialists.

And handling incidents ServiceNow came to the messengers. Companies using Slack can now track them directly in the chat. When the problem is solved, a notification will come to Slack.
Thus, as
written in the ServiceNow blog, employees will always be up to date, become less distracted and it will be easier for them to discuss critical incidents. How does the notification ServiceNow, embedded in Slack, you can see the

“With the advent of incidents from ServiceNow to Slack, the process of discussing and resolving them will be faster, and it will be easier for team members to work with additional visualization and context,” said April Underwood, vice president of Slack.
Integration with other services for more comfortable work is an important part of the ServiceNow policy. In September alone, integration was announced by the companies
InGenius and
Townsend Security . Also planned "union" with Microsoft Teams. In general, at the time of this writing, 183 integrations are
represented in the
ServiceNow Store .
But the list does not end at the official store. As already noted, working with services that are not officially supported is possible thanks to the open API. There are even special solutions for automating the work of “linking” services, such as Zapier and IFTTT. They are
advised to use the manager of the company ZenKit Eric Ebert (Eric Ebert) to integrate ServiceNow, for example, in JIRA.
The update, which will integrate ServiceNow into Slack chat, according to the developers,
will be released "a little later this year." In the future, the integration will be refined, expanding its functionality. So, it
is planned to add the ability to directly work with ServiceNow from the Slack chat.
"The partnership with Slack will allow ServiceNow users to improve service: decisions will be made faster by discussing them in real time," said Allan Leinwand, Technical Director of ServiceNow.
