In 2007, the penetration of broadband access to American homes will exceed 50% for the first time,
PC Magazine reports. According to research by Parks Associates, last year the growth of high-speed Internet users was 20% compared to the year before, with the result that today 45% or about 50 million families use broadband access. In 2007, their number will reach 60 million.
The ABI Research report cites additional figures: by 2012, there will be 480 million broadband access users worldwide (including cable and DSL), and the average annual increase will be 9%.
