Webmoney choose more often

About half of active Internet users in Russia use electronic payment systems. They often make their choice in favor of Webmoney - 24% of respondents indicated this system. In second place is Yandex.Money, they are paid by 20% of respondents. Such data are provided by ROMIR Monitoring , which polled a sample of 1,700 people aged 12+.

Among Webmoney clients there are more men (29% of respondents) at the age of 14-17 years (40%) with secondary education (30%). The majority of workers and employees are 36%.

The portrait of the Yandex.Money audience is about the same. However, among the clients of this system, it is less likely to see women (15%) over 45 years old (11%) with higher education (19%).

The remote banking service system turned out to be quite in demand - 10% of Internet users turn to it: 7% of women, 12% of men. More often, these people are 35-44 years old (16%) and much less often 18-24 years old (6%). Entrepreneurs in this user group the most (15%).

The remaining Russian payment systems are in demand only from 4 percent or less of the respondents: E-Gold - 4%, E-port - 3%, Rapida - 3%, Assist - 2%, CyberPlat - 2%, Payplat - 2%, MoneyMail - 1%, Rupay - 1%, Moneybookers - 1%, Internet. Money - 1%.

Among those who do not make electronic payments, the majority are women (61%), and, as a rule, over 45 years old with a higher education. This type of service is also not popular with students - 53%.

There are known reasons why electronic money did not come into use until half of the respondents. According to the results, 51% of their number simply do not see the need for this method of payment. 27% do not trust payment systems, and for 20% it is unusual to use them. 16% use these systems too difficult, and 11% - inconvenient.

The ROMIR Monitoring sample represents the Russian Internet audience, which in the fourth quarter of 2006 amounted to 21% of the adult population of the country. The margin of error does not exceed ± 2.5%.
