Prosecutors Ponosov do not agree with the decision of the court

The criminal case against school director Alexander Ponosov was discontinued due to its insignificance. Such an order was made today by the court of the Vereshchagino district center in the Perm Territory. Ponosov was accused of recalling the illegal use of objects of copyright of Microsoft Corporation (article 146 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The damage caused to them was found “especially large” and was estimated at 266 thousand rubles.

However, the prosecutors in the person of the Perm prosecutor’s office do not agree with the decision of the court and consider it “illegal on a formal basis.” According to Prosecutor Alexander Troyanov, Judge Vera Barakina "should have passed a sentence, not a decision to dismiss the case due to its insignificance."

The motivational part of the decision has not yet been submitted. After it is ready, the prosecutor's office will probably use the right to appeal the document.

Alexander Ponosov himself also dissatisfied with the decision of the court, namely the fact that he was not found innocent, as such. “It turns out that this is an excuse not because of the absence of a crime, but because the damage to Microsoft is seeds,” said the school’s director in a media comment.
