YouTube Inc. and Live Digital, through a trial initiated by Viacom,
agreed to provide data on two users who posted materials to the public for which the claimant has copyright.
"Violators" posted on video hosting episodes "24" and The Simpsons - two television shows broadcast on Fox TV. It is noteworthy that the episodes of "24" were found on the Internet a week before their premiere in the United States.
Google usually does not “give out” its users (even to the US authorities), but this doesn’t apply to YouTube users for
a long time : even before the service became the property of Google, YouTube Inc. disclosed the data of the user who posted the copyrighted material. In the current situation, it becomes clear that YouTube continues to be a
“special service” in the “Google family” .
