the Knowledge
conference . According to the company, this decision will strengthen the position of ServiceNow in the IT services management market and open the way to other parts of the corporate sphere.

“Customer service and personnel management are well automated,” said Allan Leinwold , Technical Director of ServiceNow. “But business spends a large amount of time on solving typical, routine tasks, for example, on requests for information about time off to the personnel department.”
The algorithms of Intelligent Automation Engine are based on DxContinuum solutions,
acquired by ServiceNow and developing machine learning technologies.
New services will be focused on the following tasks:
- Prevent downtime. Thanks to anomaly detection technology, the Intelligent Automation Engine solution identifies patterns that are highly likely to lead to downtime. This feature will appear on the ServiceNow Jakarta platform, which will be released at the end of the year.
- Classification and tracking of work. The function will classify tasks, select the best methods for solving them and predict the likely results. Predictive analytics functions will also appear.
- Prediction of efficiency. The algorithms will work with ServiceNows Performance Analytics applications that are able to track statistics in real time. They will help companies determine when they reach specified levels of efficiency (for example, response time by customer support).
In addition to the new features that will appear this year, ServiceNow announced the realization of the possibility of comparative performance evaluation in the Benchmarks application. For this, ServiceNow uses data provided by customers on an anonymous basis.
Over the past year, ServiceNow has acquired several other companies (besides DxContinuum), including IT security provider BrightPoint Security and a company developing ITapp cloud management tools.
“When buying a company, we first of all rewrite its products to our platform,” says ServiceNow Strategy Director Dave Wright (Dave Wright). “This approach eliminates confusion with a bunch of poorly integrated products.”
The company hopes that new technologies and machine learning will help business owners to cope with the workload and the continuous growth of data processed by cloud applications, as well as automate routine tasks.
