Sergey Brin, one of the founders of
Google , announced that in 2007,
GMail will be charged for additional space for storing letters.
Currently, this email service provides approximately 2.8 GB. Users with "increased requirements" will be able to pay extra space for their letters. Specific amounts are not yet called. “We cannot afford to distribute everything for free,”
says Sergey Brin.
Thus, Google plans to use the same system as Picasa Web Albums: 250 MB is offered for storing photos in this service for free, 6.25 GB can be
purchased for $ 25 per year, and 250 GB for $ 500 per year.
