A new world record is set for the longest counted number.

Alexander Yee, a graduate of the school in Palo Alto (California) and a freshman at Northwestern University (Illinois), set a new world record, calculating 116 million characters (or, if you like, numbers) in the Euler-Mascheroni constant.

The previous world record is 108 million characters. Alexander, however, said that he could not stop at the achieved 116 million, but he could not wait to boast of their victories.

To work, the young genius used his laptop and hand-written program. It took over 38 hours to calculate, verification took about 48 hours. On the site euler.isozilla.com you can read all the details and even download the file with the number itself.
