Microsoft will open data center in Johannesburg and Cape Town

These initiatives include the news about the launch of its own data center, which will also be part of another more global project, Cloud for Global Good.

Among the main products that will be available in the new region as early as 2018, Microsoft Azure, Office 365 and Dynamics 365 are noted. Their main audience is local startups and public organizations. Major examples include M-KOPA (energy) and AGIN (services for farmers).
One of the main advantages of the local data center is the new opportunities for the financial sector and other types of companies, to which local legislation imposes particularly stringent requirements for working with personal data .
