We invite you to a meeting of ThinkJava # 5 in Kharkov

We invite everyone to meet ThinkJava # 5! We will discuss current topics from the world of Java, look at industry trends from different angles, share experiences, ask questions and get answers to them - all in the traditionally cozy atmosphere of ThinkJava meetings.

Speakers about their reports:

Roman Vasilenko, “Batch processing of Big Data with Hadoop”
')
We will learn what Big Data is and what it is eaten with, talk about the challenges that the global growth of data sets before us, and find out how Hadoop is useful in the fight for Big Data. Let's look under the hood and see what makes Hadoop interesting and useful, why it can be a “lesser evil”, and find out what Hadoop is based on and how it all works.

From the fairly large ecosystem that exists around Hadoop, we will focus more on Avro's binary data storage format, the Ozzie task scheduler and the Cascading framework as an abstraction over MapReduce. On the basis of them we will make a live demo.

Igor Psaruk, “Start fast with Angular and Spring Boot”

Big Data is “cool, fashionable, youthful,” but much more often we face the challenge of developing regular web applications. Sometimes the main factor in such tasks is time. After all, the faster you roll out the project in production, the happier the customer will be, and you will have more time and opportunity to rest over a cup of freshly brewed coffee.

Therefore, in the framework of the report, we will try to create a small web application from scratch using modern frameworks Angular and Spring Boot and make sure that the frontend is not so bad for a backend developer as many people think.

After the presentations, you can ask questions on the topic and chat with the speakers.

Date of meeting : 2.06.2017, Friday.
Time : 19:00, registration starts at 18:45.
Location : Kharkov, st. Annunciation (formerly Karl Marx), 1, hub "Factory" (3rd floor).
Cost : free.
