Rutracker didn’t really lose its audience, quite naturally causes discontent of Roskomnadzor and other departments. They did try, spent money, made statements, but it all works and is not going to die. Under blocking was the main site rutracker.org, which, in fact, was just a directory of magnet links and torrent files. A new round of struggle led to the addition of server announcers to the block lists. They support the infrastructure of the resource and allow individual feasts to find each other.

However, in an interview with Gazeta.Ru, the representative of Roskomnadzor said that blocking was carried out in a planned manner and they had not done anything global in terms of total blocking in recent days.

“We do not conduct any massive attacks. We are focused on improving the effectiveness of blocking pirated content, ”said the press secretary of Roskomnadzor in an interview with a Gazeta.Ru correspondent.

He clarified that there is no talk of any slowdown in traffic for tracker users, and the blocking of RuTracker is carried out as planned.

Nevertheless, the problem is real, the servers are blocked, and in the post there are useful links to open trackers. Therefore, I decided not to delete the material.

The essence of the drama

The blocking of the following bt-servers of the torrent tracker was reported on his forum on April 5, 2017:

This leads to the fact that a client who has just received a torrent file cannot connect to servers, which will tell him where to find other peers. As a result, the connection is not established and the download does not occur. So conceived, at least. At the very Rutracker hangs the corresponding message:

From the beginning of March 2017, Russian providers, at the direction of Roskomnadzor, block trackers-announcers (bt, bt2, bt3, bt4) of our resource.

In this regard, it is difficult to record statistics in user profiles that fall under the blocking, and errors in the distribution status in torrent clients can also occur. At the same time, the actual distributions are downloaded and distributed with the DHT and Peer Exchange (PEX) options enabled.

That is, in fact, if you do not bother with the statistics of downloads and distributions, then the DHT protocol will allow users to find Vasya, who knows John, who knows Vladilen Aristarkhovna, who just has some necessary files.

What to do with it?

You can not extort the works of your favorite group, which posted their records under the free license for the tracker? Writing to Sportloto is pretty useless as long as the relevant laws are in force, but nothing prevents you from cutting the torrent client a little if this has not already been done. Rutracker has kindly posted explanatory screenshots. First of all, make sure that you have DHT and PEX. With them, you can join the distribution even when the blockers are completely blocked.

You can also use the provided proxy server, but in this case, all other trackers will fall off. Only suitable if you use Rutracker.org exclusively.

Adding open trackers to search for peers

There is also a very good method of increasing the cloud of peers - adding open trackers. Most often they do not have a web-muzzle and need work only as a service. No content. They created a distribution, registered them, gave them to friends. It is very often possible to find many additional distributors if the distribution hash is the same.
