Hello!
As a rule, recently on Habré we publish only news about stable versions of the Vivaldi browser, without distracting "on trifles" to the test builds. But today is a special case. We added a feature to the browser that many developers have long asked for, including on Habré, so we decided to announce the news early, without waiting for a stable release. And, of course, it would be better if the developers actually test the requested function. Details under the cut.
"Whipped" DevTools
So, we waited: in the Vivaldi browser, it was possible to place the developer’s tools directly in the browser window:
To say that users requested such a function means to say nothing. This is one of the three whales on which the whole world of user requests stands. The other two include synchronization and email client. I can say that these two whales are in the process of being born and are undergoing internal testing in the company, but the developer’s beaten-down tools are ready to be shown to the general public. Try, test, and tell us about all the shortcomings so that we can prepare a convenient and high-quality developer tool for the next stable release.
')
Yes, if someone is already used to working with these tools in a separate window - we left the opportunity to place the developer’s tools in this form. And also from left to right and at the bottom of the window:
Folders Express panel
Another novelty does not apply to whales, but also very large fish, if we continue the marine classification of new functions. In general, we have begun to upgrade the Express panel. At the moment we have changed the appearance of the folders, and also added the ability to display the contents of these folders on the Express panel cell:
In addition, we fixed a lot of bugs and shortcomings, the full list of which is at the end of the article. But not everything was fixed, plus fresh known problems:
- Keyboard shortcuts in the beaten-down developer tools conflict with browser-based VB-27893
- Switching themes inside developer tools leads to crash (does not apply to browser themes) VB-27954
That's all for now. A complete list of changes is at the end of the article, and you can download the new assembly via the links below:
