The first course Mail.Ru Group on the largest educational platform Coursera

Spring is time to study! Together with the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and Contented, we are launching a course on the specialty “Interface Designer” on the Coursera online educational platform. Later three more courses will be launched, dedicated to the creation of interfaces and teamwork.

The course is designed in such a way that students can learn a new profession almost from scratch, but at the same time receive all the necessary knowledge to start work immediately. The authors and teachers of the course are professionals with extensive industry experience. During the course, students will receive systematic knowledge of the interface development process, learn about the latest trends in interface design, platform features and how to take them into account when developing a design, and learn how to work with the most current tools today. The courses are conducted by employees of Mail.Ru Group, Notamedia, Red Keds and Redmadrobot - practitioners with extensive experience.

Video lectures are available for free. To complete assignments and get feedback from teachers you need to pay for access. To study on a course, it is enough to have experience working with a graphic editor, for example, Adobe Photoshop or Sketch.

During the course, students will learn the principles of designing user interaction, learn the basic concepts of visual design, learn to distinguish good design from bad and analyze current trends. Already during the course, the participants of the course will begin to apply the laws of product design in their work, they will solve several real interface tasks.

We have tried to highlight all the key aspects of the work of the interface designer - from the fundamentals of the profession to all the important skills that are needed for the design of digital products (identify user problems, propose a solution for them, bring the solution to mind and release). The course has a very convenient modular structure - it is a set of small video lessons that are interspersed with practical lessons. You can follow them in a row, if you want to learn a profession from scratch, or “squander” if you are already familiar with the topic. The practical part is fixed on the basis of a common educational task, which runs through all stages of training.

Every month there will be new programs:

• "Detailed prototyping of the interface and analytics";
• “Preparing for teamwork. Presentation and self-presentation. Portfolio. Career and customer search.
