Educational IT-portal GeekBrains and Mail.Ru Group launched a joint project - Russia's first online university, which prepares web developers, Android and iOS programmers. GeekUniversity students will be able to go from a beginner to a middle-developer in just one year.

At the moment, GeekUniversity has opened a set for two faculties - web and Android-development. In the near future, Java programming and iOS devices will be added to them. University tuition fees; All classes are online. IT specialists from leading Russian companies will teach, including Mail.Ru Group, Alfa-Bank, Avito, etc. Graduates of GeekUniversity will receive a certificate confirming their qualifications. They will also receive guaranteed employment: HR specialists will offer options for vacancies, help you get an interview and start a career in one of the university's partner companies.

Anyone can enter the online university. The applicant must have basic programming skills: for admission, you must successfully pass the online testing on the GeekUniversity website. Those who did not cope with the test, will be able to get the missing knowledge in the preparatory courses of the university.

The training program is designed for 350 academic hours, the intensity of classes - three or four lessons per week. The emphasis is on real-life tasks and how to solve them. Students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to start a career, and will put them into practice, developing their own projects. In addition, each student is assigned a personal mentor - a programmer with work experience who can quickly answer emerging questions.

The training program also has courses in the development of so-called soft skills. For example, students will be taught how to work in a team and effectively prepare for an interview.
