MEPhI organizes information security competition for students

Soon, on April 21-23, 2017, the All-Russian Student Information Security Olympiad will take place. The competition is held on the basis of the National Research Nuclear University "MEPhI" with the participation of Positive Technologies. Students from 18 to 25 years old can take part in the competition.

About the competition

For several years in succession, the All-Russian Information Security Olympiad has been held at MEPhI. The competition is supported by the largest companies in the industry, including Positive Technologies and Kaspersky Lab.

The Olympiad consists of two rounds - theoretical and practical. The winner and prize-winners of the Olympiad will be awarded with diplomas and valuable prizes from the MEPhI and sponsors of the event, as well as receive benefits for admission to the magistracy of the Institute of Intelligent Cybernetic Systems of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI in the areas of training "Computer Science and Information Technology" and "Information Security"

How to participate

To participate in the competition are invited students of higher educational institutions not older than 25 years (at the time of the event), enrolled in undergraduate programs, specialties and magistracies training areas of 10.00.00 and 09.00.00. Participants must pass a competitive selection at the place of study (up to 4 people from the university).

Registration takes place on the event website from March 10 to April 19: olymp.mephi.ru/is2017/ .

A representative of the university administration should, before April 19, send to the address of the organizing committee of the Olympiad (olymp_is@mail.ru) scanned versions of applications for each participant representing the university, signed by the rector (vice-rector, dean) with the seal of the university or faculty. The originals of the applications are submitted by the participants at the registration before the start of the full-time tour.

Foreign students can take part out of the competition (the end of registration for them is April 15).

The support of the Olympiad is part of the Positive Education educational program aimed at increasing the level of professional education in the field of information security in Russia.

MEPhI is a participant in the program and was given the opportunity to use a number of the company's products for educational purposes. In addition, our experts conduct seminars for students. Some of them write theses with the use of PT Application Firewall and MaxPatrol SIEM.
