MIPT launched an online course on innovative project management

The course was developed by MIPT together with eNANO with the support of IBS and is intended for leaders of innovative companies, technology entrepreneurs, startups and all those involved in high-tech business, as well as exploring innovation and project management.

The course examines the value approach underlying the standard Guidelines for the Management of Innovative Projects and Enterprise Programs (P2M) and is used by many world leaders in high-tech industries. The course topics are illustrated with examples from the practice of Matsushita-Panasonic, Chioda, Toyota, Technip, Motorola, Rosatom and many others, as well as megaprojects and innovative programs implemented in various countries with the participation of government structures (Japan, USA, Russia, European Union) ).

The tools mentioned in the course are absolutely practical and applicable not only at the level of large companies and corporations, but also for small companies, start-ups, as well as for building personal development strategies.

For example, a balanced scorecard is used to illustrate both corporate innovation strategy, and indicators of the value of an innovation program, as well as the behavior model of a modern project manager.

The course program is designed for 7 weeks, each week reveals in detail the individual topics. In addition to theoretical material, the student also passes practical tasks and tests for the development and consolidation of the material.

During the first week , key approaches to project management that emerged in the evolution of this discipline over more than half a century of its existence are considered. Particular attention is paid to the value approach, which largely determines the latest trends in project management, and especially in the management of innovative projects and programs.

The second week of the course is devoted to getting acquainted with the key ideas of innovation management that underlie the P2M standard. These ideas are formulated as a balanced innovation model combining technological, managerial and commercial aspects of the implementation of innovative programs.

The main topic of the third week of the course is innovation strategy. What they can be in principle? How to choose the strategy that most suits your company? How to determine how successfully the chosen strategy is implemented? We consider several approaches to the implementation of strategic choice, including the model of competing values.

The fourth week is devoted to a special kind of innovation - organizational innovation. We are talking about changes in the business architecture of the company, that is, in the organizational structure, in business processes and their supporting technologies.

On the fifth week of the course , the main provisions of the P2M standard are considered: key definitions and concepts are introduced, the logic of using the standard to form a holistic view of the goals and methods of implementing innovative projects and programs is considered.

The sixth week is devoted to the design of the program architecture.

The main theme of the seventh, last, week of the course is the innovative environment of the enterprise. How do innovative ideas arise, what can an organization do in order to stimulate this process in order to increase its innovative potential.
