Release of 3CX V15 SP5 and client updates for macOS and iOS
3CX V15 SP5
This Friday we presented the final version of the 3CX V15 SP5. In SP5, the functionality of 3CX versions for Windows and Linux has finally caught up, and the Linux version of 3CX is now the final release! In addition, new features have been added that simplify system administration and its placement in the cloud services of the largest operators.
Automatic updates, backups and restores
We have automated many routine operations that the administrator previously had to perform manually:
Automatic backup of system configuration to specified Google Drive account
Automatic restoration of the system backup to another 3CX server for fault tolerance (in Pro and Enterprise editions)
Significantly simplified configuration of a failover cluster
Automatic installation of Debian OS updates in Linux version 3CX
Automatic installation of tested 3CX system updates
Automatic download of updated firmware IP phones. After that, the administrator can install them on the phones in one click. The system notifies the administrator about the use of an outdated firmware version in IP phones.
The new feature 3CX Labs allows you to install a beta version of the system and test them before the final release
The IVR service now supports guest-set alarm clocks for use in hotels.
Other improvements
Simply connect your Gmail or Office 365 account to send server notifications to users
Simplified setting of DID call source identification rules
Windows and Mac clients are included in the installation distribution of the system.
PUSH chat message notifications on 3CX clients for Android and iOS
Existing restrictions
When updating the system from V14, users will lose the changes made in the e-mail notification templates. It is recommended to save changes made to templates in another place before updating.
The auto-configuration patterns of the Yealink and Snom IP phones have been updated. Therefore, if you created your own (changed) templates for these models, you need to make changes again.
When using Google Drive to store backups, a Google.GoogleApiException error may occur: Google.Apis.Requests.RequestError Insufficient permissions for the specified parent.[403]. Share the folder and set the rights is owner or can organize, add and edit .
Caller ID subscriber name retrieval from ODBC and LDAP sources is not supported in 3CX for Linux. At the moment we do not plan to support these data sources in the Linux version.
Reports in 3CX for Linux are not available in PDF format. Currently use the HTML format, and the PDF format will appear in the next update.
Simultaneously with the release of 3CX V15 SP5, we presented a 3CX client update for macOS. This update significantly increased the speed of connection between subscribers and fixed some switching errors that occurred on macOS Sierra.
Improvements
Fast call switching
Fixed a bug that caused TCP calls to be disconnected after 32 seconds.
Fixed switching errors on macOS Sierra
It makes sense to install the 3CX client for MacOS if you already have the 3CX V15 SP5 server running:
Go to the 3CX Management Console
In the top menu, click the Update button, go to the 3CX Clients section and download the client
The server will transmit update notifications to all users of the system.
The next time you start or restart the client, the user will receive a notification about the availability of the update.
After the user's consent, the update will be installed automatically.
You can also download the new 3CX client for MacOS manually from here . The full changelog is available here .
3CX Client Update for iOS
We invite our clients and partners to join in beta testing a new 3CX client for iOS. You will receive new builds before their official release. To do this, fill out this form (only if you have not completed it before). As soon as a new build comes out, you will receive a notification by e-mail. Please note that we are not immediately transferring new subscribers to Apple, so it may take some time to activate your subscription.
In the current beta version, we have implemented support for IPv6 and IPv6 to IPv4 (NAT64 conversion). This was done because some large operators (in particular, Verizon and T-Mobile) switched to IPv6. We also included a patch for iOS PUSH notifications when a client is using the TCP protocol without a tunnel. Connecting without a tunnel using the TCP protocol is another condition for supporting the IPv6 protocol.
Other improvements
Copy and paste number into client interface
When you click on the top of the interface, an on-screen keyboard appears allowing you to enter characters or change the number.
Call one click from the interface information about the contact
