VMware Introduces New NSX Tools for SDN
VMware Inc. continues to bet on the development of software-defined networks, because February 2 announced NSX for vSphere 6.3 and the new product NSX-T 1.1 for working with cloud environments.

Security improvements have been made, including the appearance of the Application Rule Manager, which monitors the VMware environment for two days and then generates recommendations for protecting services based on network traffic. VMware also added the ability to manage NSX load balancers using the vRealize Automation Suite or remote access tools.
Another new product, NSX-T 1.1, announced last year, is a tool for organizing virtual networks in cloud environments. At the same time, the technology supports work with environments that run under OpenStack Newton and Mitaka and the KVM hypervisor from Canonical Ltd and Red Hat Inc. Also in the package is a beta version of the program that supports the work of NSX with the containers of applications.

Today, NSX features are used by clients from a wide range of areas. For example, AeroData uses NSX to create a highly available data center architecture. Terry McDonough, CEO of AeroData, says the company has implemented a secure and highly available software-defined data center based on VMware technology that processes and distributes important data on 21,000 aircraft flights daily.
VMware noted that there is interest in technology and it is great - according to the company, about 11 thousand IT specialists participated in training programs, and more than 7 thousand of them received NSX certificates. Moreover, at the end of January, company representatives said that NSX was on the verge of becoming a billionaire business with more than two thousand authorized clients.
“With the new updates, we will continue to support the key functions of the NSX and will try to simplify the user experience with the tool,” said VMware vice president Milin Desai (Milin Desai).
